Empowering Stories: Bridging Voices, Wisdom, and Legacy

My picture book journey began when my oldest daughter, now 18, asked, ‘Dad, why don’t most of the books in the library have many brown characters in them?’ That simple question inspired me to do my part to create books where more children can see themselves reflected and connect with the world around them. I value the ‘mirrors and windows’ concept—books can offer both a reflection of who we are and a view into others’ experiences.

I mix education with entertainment in my books, providing that ‘edutainment’ vibe. I hope they offer small nuggets of wisdom that resonate with readers of all ages, encouraging a bit more empathy and understanding of our shared experiences, while celebrating the beauty of our uniqueness along the way.

My mom, an independent publisher who believed in empowering individuals and sharing stories on our own terms, passed away, but her spirit lives on through this venture. I’m carrying on the work she and I started together, pushing boundaries and amplifying voices.
